7 Tricks For Streak-Free Window Cleaning

window-cleaner.jpg

Most people have no idea on how to clean windows streak free. This is a daunting task because getting rid of those random lines is difficult. However, it is still possible to achieve clear windows with a perfect outside view if you master a few tricks. Below are the items you need and how you should clean them.

1. Vinegar

White vinegar works perfectly and saves you time in cleaning windows. Mix it with water at let the mixture be 50-50 solution. Don’t be worried about the smell of vinegar because it disappears quickly leaving a clear window.

2. Distilled water

Minerals in hard water leave streaks in windows. If your tap water is hard, it might be difficult to get rid of streaky windows. Try using distilled water for an excellent outcome.

3. Don't use soap

While soap might be the best cleaning detergent, it doesn’t work well in window cleaning. If you must use it, just use it partially. The water you use to mix soap with should not have a soapy foam on top. Even if cleanser removes the grease, soap streaks might still be left behind.

4. Use a Squeegee

Don’t even try to waste your time using mountains of paper towels or window washing solutions to clean your windows. A squeegee will clean your windows in a few minutes. Even though it might take a lot of time to master how to use a squeegee, you will have streak free windows after the whole process.

5. Use a newspaper

On small interior windows, a squeegee might not work perfectly. Use newspapers before purchasing paper towel rolls. This method has been tried and works.

6. Buff

If other methods don’t work, you can try to buff some streaks. Use a microfiber cloth or chamois. Even a soft cloth can still work. Make sure that the piece of cloth is dry so that you can buff streaks out of your windows.

7. Never stop to clean your windows

You might be tempted to stop window cleaning once you achieve streaky results. However, you shouldn’t stop this if you want an easy window cleaning job in future. If you clean your windows often, you won’t struggle with black streaks that appear on your window frames.

Rafael Niesten

Written by Rafael Niesten

In his early 20s, Perth local Rafael Niesten, won a scholarship to study in Canada, with that came the opportunity to volunteer at a local radio station. That spawned his entrepreneurial streak, returning to Perth in 2001 he set up community radio Groove FM. More by luck than design, they became successful, too successful as they took a significant chunk of the Perth Market. This sent up the red flag with his commercial competitors who saw to it that he came before the Australian Broadcasting Authority and on technicalities such as the number of volunteers he was forced to move on. He received the citizen of the year award for Western Australia (youth) and was a finalist in the Australian of the year awards (Youth). Falling on his sword he turned to running small and large scale events, all the while buying, renovating and selling properties. Buying and selling land and renovated houses provided a grounding in the property industry. He founded a cloud based medical grade voice recognition company, followed by co founding the first true cloud application for private practice in the health sector. He successfully exited these ventures at the end of 2016 and began building Bricks+Agent.
