6 Ways Of Avoiding A Dodgy Plumber

didgy-1Have you ever come across a dodgy plumber? This might happen when you fail to check important information and documents from a plumber before hiring. However, below is a guide that will help you to hire a competent plumber to complete your projects or repairs.

1. Check their qualifications

A professional plumber should have all credentials and enough experience to perform the task needed. Confirm whether he/she has a licence and if it allows them to do the task that you want. In case your project involves a gas appliance installation, a plumber should also have a seperate gas fitting licence aside from his plumbing licence.

2. Does he have a compliance certificate?

Before starting the project, ask your plumber if he issues a compliance certificate. This is important for completion of the job.

3. Collect quotes

You should get quotes from different plumbers and compare them before hiring any of them. Don’t just hire the first plumber who sends a quote. Specify the task that you want to be done before getting quotes from different plumbers.

4. Read customers feedback

Always confirm whether your plumber is ideal for the task by looking at what his past clients say on the customer's feedback. Through the feedback, you will know whether the plumber is tardy or punctual, rude or polite and if he is affordable or expensive.

5. Does the plumber have insurance?

You should hire a plumber who is insured because insurance protects both him and your property too in case of accidents. Let him tell you about what his insurance can cover.

6. Sign a contract

Before hiring the plumber, you should sign a written agreement which contains information like:

  • The price
  • Warranty
  • Plumbers ABN, important dates, business details, the licence number and contact details.
  • What the job involves

If you consider the following factors before hiring a plumber, you won’t fall into the hands of a dodgy plumber.

This was recently sold to Made Group. Real estate has always been in his blood and it was a natural fit to start Bricks + Agent given the amount of insight he has into the industry as a whole. Having seen how all different forms of traditional marketing was used to the direction that it is now heading today, we think we have come up with a truly unique proposition that fits into the current state of the property maintenance market.
